Methodology

Tisseyre + Associés has 40 years of experience in 3D modeling of acoustic phenomena in rooms in operation. 3D modeling from the early stages of projects makes it possible to anticipate acoustic solutions in order to integrate them into the architecture and to take into account with finesse all the architectural details to fully integrate them into the acoustic performance of the rooms. Starting from the observation that the acoustics of a room are structuring for its architecture, we have developed a joint working methodology with the architect by basing our solutions on the needs and uses of each space.

Tasks

Complete acoustic mission of the museum

Thanks to our 3D model tool for spaces in operation, Intelligibility®, we can collaborate from the design phase with the architect in order to integrate the acoustic solutions into the architecture of the room. For this museum, we have proposed tailor-made acoustic solutions adapted to the different planned uses and to the requests of the architects and scenographers. This is why we followed a logic of sound progression to ensure a natural orientation of the visitors in the direction of the visit of the exhibition of the museum.

Multimedia mission – sound journey

To guide visitors through the exhibition, interactive animation terminals have been installed so that they naturally attract their attention. Therefore, it is necessary to control the soundscapes of each animation in an occupied space to guarantee comfort of use. This is why we have worked on the integration of acoustic materials in the architecture and museography and designed tailor-made loudspeakers so that they contribute to:

  • A perfect superposition of sound and visual images so that visitors benefit from an acoustic immersion related to the theme,
  • Limited sound coverage so that no sound animation disturbs the surrounding areas.
